This has come from Mark Berriman of AVS.  It's great that it will be on prime time television, so get as many people as you can to watch "A Current Affair" on Monday.

Can you please let people know about the new Meat-Free Monday campaign?

The campaign will feature an ad in a mock butcher shop with the butcher (actor) saying that even he is going to drop meat on Mondays. It is being run by Sanitarium to promote its new Vegie Delights range of meat analogues.

The campaign will be featured on Channel 9's A Current Affair this Monday, 19 September at 6.30pm.

Don't forget to watch this tonight.  Saw an ad for it last night.

Imagine the number of animals saved if everyone gave up eating meat just one day a week.

Very good ad campaign. Man...the meat industry's not gonna like it one little bit. Imagine the amount of money they'll lose out on, especially since the Sanitarium products are so much cheaper in comparison!

Cant stand the commercial networks especially in the regards to their "news"and "current affairs",still it will be worth watching. If you want to "mainstream"not eating meat you have to go through the mainstream chanels...

I hadn't heard of this.  What a cool idea!

Next... we need to get someone inspired to start a Tempeh-Tuesdays campaign!

Good to see you back, Julien.  Of course it has to go to the commercial channels - just the sheer numbers dictate that, but a shame that the ABC don't run a similar campaign.

Yep, Tempeh Tuesday coming up!!

Was it any good? Not much could get me to turn on the TV and NOTHING could make me watch 'A Current Affair"
I think it's great tho to have something like this on at prime time

It was only an ad - a good one - but I thought it was going to be a full segment.  Never mind - better than nothing.

I liked the ad... simply because it's nice to see vegetarianism advertised on TV :-P I've noticed that soy milk consumption has gone up since sanitarium started that 'why do I drink So Good' series of ads... thumbs up to sanitarium, even though I'm not keen on their products (LOL)

Hey have you seen the new Vegie Delights (Sanitarium) Forum?

I would be interested to see what their nutritionists have to say on the forum. May be worth a post?

Yair...can't see the point in "Meat free Mondays". The stated objective is not to "save the animals" but to save the planet...presumably by reducing the amount of methane that is burped and farted out of the ends of ruminant animals.

How is not eating them going to help?
