I LOVE THIS PLACE! My vegetarian boyfriend and I just love dining here. They just started a Saturday breakfast/brunch and we went and had the buckwheat pancakes and scrambled tofu and it was just delicious! The prices are great as well, the people who own the heart garden are clearly passionate about providing excellent food and service. My favourite restaurant for great vegetarian food and friendly service :)

Fantastic food!!! I have been here about 3 times and shared multiple meals with friends every time. We have never encountered a dish that was anything other than amazingly delicious! All the flesh eaters who've joined me here loved the place, but truly any vegetarian or vegan who hasn't tried it is missing out!!

My partner and I ate here last night, and it is FANTASTIC!! We shared the Bliss Burger (Oh Yumm!), the Not Sausage Roll (OMG!) - bought one to bring home for the fridge too!, Vegan Lasagne & Salad (Delicious!). We THOROUGHLY enjoyed every morsel! For desert we had a soy chai (liquid love :), vegan chocolate cake (WoW!) and a piece of Scrumptious slice. This is now our favorite place. Can't wait to go back!!!

I went there for the first time today and tried the Bliss Burger. Best veggie burger I've had in my 3 short months as a vegetarian! The only caveat is that it wasn't very big and left me a little hungry.
Nice atmosphere, great friendly service, and only a short walk from UQ for students.
I will definitely be going back to try the lasagne.

some people think it's a lil expensive... i get that, i'm still on a student budget BUT... i'd rather go here once a month than another place 2/3 times a month - definitely worth it. great food (esp the bliss burger), wonderful service, relaxing atmosphere. everytime i meet up with mates at st lucia i take them there and they've always loved it and return there whenever they can.

I'm not a vegetarian, but went with a vegan friend and loved the place! Been several times since, with my favourite meal being the African beans meal in a bowl. Desperately trying to find the recipe of this.

I'm not even vegetarian but this place is amazing... Actually it's better than amazing, it deserves a whole new word. You MUST try the Bliss Burger - it's my absolute favourite burger of all time. All the desserts are wonderful too. The ladies who work there are some of the most delightful people you will ever meet. Even thought I no longer live in St Lucia I still go back there again and again. If you haven't tried it - DO IT!!!

My Heart Garden is awesome!!
Best vegan lasagne I have ever eaten! So many yummy desserts too, which are hard to come across. Even my omni boyfriend was impressed!
The atmosphere was fantastic, very bright and cheery, and the staff were super friendly.
I highly recommend this place, my new favourite I think, can't wait to go back again! :)

After reading Glenn's review I had to go and try the lasagne at this place. It turned out to be one of the best vegan lasagnes I have ever tasted. The price was quite good too at $12.95 for a large serve of lasagne and salad.
The people are friendly and the service is good. The carob soy milkshake was delicious! I will definitely be back to try the other menu items and to get another lasagne fix! :)

The moment I walked into the restaurant, I relaxed. Brightly lit, full of warmth and acceptance, lovely people running it, and great great great food. I had the Bliss Burger to eat in, a Not Sausage Roll takeaway, and shared with my friend 4 (yes, 4) desserts, all of which were lovely and outstanding. Support a wonderful vegan/vegetarian business and get yourself along to My Heart Garden.

The menu has a variety of dishes & foods from a number of countries & is about 80% vegan. The staff are lovely, charming & friendly & the service excellent. Although only in Brisbane for a few days I was so impressed with My Heart Garden on my first visit that I went back again the next day, eating in & getting take-aways both times. My favourite was the Bliss Burger with the Korean Tofu a close second & I would definitely recommend the vegan carrot and chocolate cakes.

I know a lot of other people love this place, but i'm not a huge fan. The sri lankan "platter" was less than you'd get in a normal restaurant for half a main, and it was still lukewarm. I think it's quite overpriced and find most of the food a bit bland.
Service was excellent however.

The food looked good, but it was just too expensive. Plus another 15% for public holidays... The scrambled eggs/tofu is $14.50 before a drink or surcharge. I'm sure if you have the income this is a lovely restaurant, and from what other people have said the food is great. Back to Govindas for me!

This is one of my favourite places in oz!
It's not big and it's not fancy - and that's one of the reasons it works.
It's bright and colourful, just being there is a cheery experience.
The food on display matches the breezy decor of the place, and they offer a selection of juices and all-fruit (or veg) smoothies that some specialized juice places can't match. (Boost comes to mind.)
But not only do things look good, they taste good! There are foods on offer from all round the world including Africa, Thailand and Sri Lanka with tons of options for vegans llike me.
They have the most tantalising desserts on display, including cookies, that innocently tempt you even though you've already had enough!
Then add the friendly service.
With it's bright decor, wonderful food, juices and smoothles and agreeable service, this place is a winner!
My only reservation is that i wish the place were fully vegan!

I visited My Heart Garden with three fellow vegan friends and was very impressed with the dessert range. The pumpkin 'cheese' cake was to die for!Its rare to find a vegan mudcake in Brisbane also. Perhaps some of the best dahl I have ever tasted and the staff are lovely people who make you feel appreciated. Great stuff!

Very nice people who seem to 'walk the talk' of compassion and don't seem to be working solely for the money.
Good service, the food is clean, not very processed, and made fresh and fast. Vegan breakfast and other meals - and vegan sweets like cookies and cupcakes.
It's also nice to find somewhere where you can get a fantastic vegan smoothie so close to UQ!

I really like this place and will continue driving over to St Lucia to make special visits. Lovely iced vegan cupcakes: chocolate, gingerbread, many more...all tasty and surprisingly filling. Salads looked good: rosemary pasta, marinated broccoli, etc. Other good stuff: beetroot hommus and carrot dip with bread. Sri lankan platter, lentil burger, and a huge selection of "side orders" (baked tofu, Mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy! etc)

This place is great! Their lentil burger is THE best vegan burger I have ever had. I'm so glad to have such good vegan food so close to UQ. Their vegan chocolate cake is fantastic and I really like their salads. The staff are so lovely as well. It is a little higher than my budget as a uni student, but it's not expensive.

A good place to eat breakfast!
The pancakes are yummy - served with stewed apple and ice cream! You can also get a big breakfast of eggs/scrambled tofu with organic break, spinnach, mushrooms and tomato. Fresh juices also good.
The only downside would be if you like coffee of the 'caffeinated' variety with your breakfast. The menu is caffeine free.

My Heart Garden has come into its own now, its menu has been updated to include some new things, the quality of the meals is also much better. There is also a wider range of fresh salads which are awesome and alot more vegan deserts and treats- slices, cakes etc. While I think that the meals are mediumly priced, the quantities are quite alot. I recommend the Meal in a Bowl and the salads. Good Food!

I have only been once and was very happy with the friendly staff. My meal was delicious, though I wouldn't go if you're ravenous, the meals aren't large for the price. However the selection is interesting and very tasty. There were some vegan and gluten free cakes on offer, lovely salads, a set menu, great hot and cold drink selection and soup. A great place for a light lunch or dinner.

The service is very friendly and quick. The prices mid-level, not the cheapest in regards to the amount or quality of the food.
The food is usually good, but has been inconsistent. Alot of the meals often taste extra salty. However My Heart Garden do offer a unique mix of menu choices unlike other vegan/veg places in Brisbane. This is one of the restaurant's strengths. They have a great selection of Salads that changes day by day. The Lotus leaf curries are great, as is the Bali Satay balls and the Dahl. As the place is new hopefully some of the inconsistencies will be smoothed out as the menu and cooking becomes more established. This place is worth the visit.

I have never tasted vegetarian food this good before. The dishes are all extremely flavoursome, the staff are very friendly. What I like is each meal is full of so many subtle flavours. The decor is bright and welcoming, the seating arrangements simple and comfortable. I try a different meal each time I dine, now I have my favourites. Yes the prices are very affordable. I understand their philosophy to be happiness in serving others, based on their meditative lifestyle - thats why the food tastes so great. This cafe is a breath of fresh air, I highly recommend it.

This is a cute little restaurant. The service was very good, they were very sweet. As for the food, it was delicious. I recommend the Highball soybean ball peanut satay, which is what I had. Everything that the my friends ordered was really yummy too. It offers Asian as well as Western vegetarian foods, with quite a few vegan and gluten free options - they also have a selection of vegan deserts which were delicious mmm... Ask them about their cooking philosophy, it is very interesting, they incorporate a form of meditation into the process.
